Tylophora Indica / Asthmatica: Traditionally used to treat airway constriction due to asthma and other respiratory conditions.

Ophiopogon Japonicus: In Chinese medicine, Ophiopogon japonicus tuber, known as mai men dong, is the cardinal herb for yin deficiency. It enters the heart, lungs, stomach, and spleen channels and nourishes the yin, clears the heat, and quiets irritability in those areas. It is also used for hacking dry coughs, dry tongue and mouth, and constipation.

Astragalus: Helps to maintain the normal functions of the liver, lungs, kidneys, stomach, and heart.It boosts energy, defers aging, detoxifies, bolsters white blood cell generation, supports the immune system, promotes the effects of other herbs, and helps reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Codonopsis Pilosula: Boosts lung function, fights viral infections, coughs, and other respiratory conditions.

Cordyceps: In vitro studies suggest aqueous extracts of C. sinensis have a stimulatory effect on ion transport in human airway epithelial cells. Possibly this is because of cordycepin and adenosine.  Animal studies suggest its effects on the respiratory system are due to its enhancement of the lung’s ability to utilize oxygen.

Buplereum Root: Augments the actions of steroids in the body, boosting anti-inflammatory defense.

Dong Quai (angelica sinesis) Root: Used to combat chronic nasal and sinus congestion.

Chinese Licorice Root: Second only to ginseng in the herbal hierarchy of Chinese medicine. It is believed to help neutralize toxins and to eliminate side effects of other herbs used with it.

Long Pepper Fruit: As a stand-alone medicinal herb, it has been used for treating coughs, colds, fevers and a variety of stomach ailments.

Ginger Root: Uses include treating upper respiratory tract infections, cough, and bronchitis.

Panax Ginseng: Uses include treating upper respiratory tract infections, cough.
